In addition to the numerous state and federal statutes, regulations and policies related to pain management, under treatment of pain is an additional issue of concern.  Timely delivery of pain medications is sometimes at odds with regulations for emergency box use,  long-term care nurses are in many cases not accepted as agents for prescribing physicians and chart orders are not accepted as prescriptions for C-II medications.  Come to this session to gain insight into the thinking of Boards of Pharmacy on these difficult issues and to reflect on your own policies and procedures related to pain.

Supported by an educational grant from Endo Pharmaceuticals.
