Joanne Lynn, MD, MA, SM
Bureau Chief - Cancer and Chronic Disease
Department of Health, Government of the District of Columbia

Clinical care guidelines are generally written as decision trees from the disease state perspective and cover only a single disease state at that.  When dealing with seniors with multiple morbidities it is important to optimize the application of clinical knowledge to clinical practice. Dr. Joanne Lynn, geriatrician, former CMS official and Bureau Chief of the District of Columbia Department of Health Community Health Administration will help “make it real” so be sure to attend this general plenary session.

The Peter P. Lamy Memorial Lecture has been established by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists as a forum for the presentation of high-level research and new developments in the study of aging and related health care issues. This lecture is designed to serve as a remembrance of the late Dr. Peter P. Lamy, an innovator in the field of geriatrics and the role of the pharmacist in senior care.  More information on the Lamy Center can be found at: http://www.pharmacy.umaryland.edu/lamy/
